WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Personnel who are assigned to respond to and resolve barricade incidents. This course meets the NTOA’s Tactical Response and Operations Standard (TROS) Tier status capability requirement recommendation for Barricaded Subject Operations.
This course is designed to address procedures and tactics relevant to resolving incidents involving subjects in crisis and armed barricaded criminal suspects. Upon successful completion, students will gain an understanding of the dynamics in such scenarios and learn how to implement tactics and principles for managing barricaded incidents. The curriculum covers force options and their appropriate use, the levels of force and subject resistance, as well as the roles and responsibilities of SWAT Team members during barricade situations. Additional topics include deployment criteria, legal considerations, technology deployment and less-lethal options. Intended for tactical operators, this course challenges participants to understand and apply both fundamental and advanced tactical concepts.
