Lessons Gleaned from Research of High Profile Critical Incidents

The CATO After Action Review Team will present the lessons learned from numerous large-scale critical incidents. The focus of the presentation will be on decision making, equipment needs, strategy and tactics, and current training gaps. While SWAT related lessons learned will be covered, they are not the sole focus of the presentation.

Travis Norton - Bio
Travis Norton began his career with the Oceanside, CA Police Department in 1999. He was on his department's tactical team from 2003 to 2009, and from 2011 to 2018, he served as a team leader. Travis is an instructor for the California Association of Tactical Officers (CATO), the NTOA, and Field Command. Travis leads the CATO after Action Review Team. Travis holds a master's degree in Emergency Services Administration from Cal State Long Beach.
