Incident Debrief: Hostage Rescue on Magical Way, Tucson, AZ

This debrief will discuss a hostage situation during which an armed suspect threatened to kill his 9-year-old son. The 18-hour deployment had local teams turning over the scene to one another and concluded with a deliberate hostage rescue.

Pat Hilliker - Bio
Patrick Hilliker began his law enforcement career in 1995 as a Corrections Officer with the Pima County (AZ) Sheriff's Department. In 1998 he was promoted to Commissioned Deputy. Patrick became a member of the SWAT Team in 2001 and was part of the team when it became regional in 2005. He was promoted to sergeant in 2006 and was the full-time Lead Supervisor for Pima Regional SWAT from 2008 until 2012. Currently, he is the department's Border Interdiction Unit supervisor. This specialized unit concentrates its efforts on detecting and intercepting narcotics, U.S. Currency, and human smuggling. He remains a member and supervisor on the Regional SWAT team.

Dain Salisbury - Bio
Sgt. Dain Salisbury is a 12-year member of the Tucson (AZ) Police Department. He has served with the SWAT team for seven years and since 2016 has been one of three full-time SWAT sergeants.
