Incident Debrief: Lane Drive Hostage Rescue, Cobb County, GA

This presentation will take participants through four hostage rescue incidents, culminating with an entry team-initiated hostage rescue. This Oct. 2, 2018 incident resulted in the rescue of two hostages and the death of one hostage taker. Cobb County Police Department SWAT team's background also will be discussed.

Robert Latham - Bio

Sgt. Robert Latham has been employed with the Cobb County Police since 2004 and a member of the Cobb County Police Department SWAT team since 2007. He is currently an entry team leader and the sergeant in charge of the full time element of the Cobb County Police SWAT team.

Michael Sabens - Bio

Sgt. Michael Sabens has been employed with the Cobb County Police Department Since 2002 and a member of the Cobb County Police Department SWAT team since 2006, currently serving as an entry team leader. He is assigned to the Cobb County Police Department training unit as the mandate manager.
