This 2-day course is designed to educate and prepare police officers in the event of an ambush. Officers will be trained in techniques to recognize threat cues and indicators prior to the attack. Officers will be trained in tactical responses to mitigate the attackers tactical advantage. Officers will also be trained in the application of self-aid through the use of tourniquets. This is a hands-on, high-intensity course in which students practice tactics and techniques in the field.

  • Jason Behun - Bio
    Detective Behun has been in law enforcement since 1994 and is currently employed with the Cape Coral (FL) Police Department. He is assigned to the Training Unit and is a certified firearms instructor in handgun, shotgun, and rifle; vehicle operations, defensive tactics, TASER (Master Instructor), Less Lethal munitions, chemical agents, baton, Active Shooter Response & use of force. Detective. Behun has been on SWAT since 2000 and serves as a team leader. The first 13 years of his career was with the City of Pittsburgh Police Department where he served as a full-time member of the Pittsburgh SWAT Team for 7 years and an adjunct instructor at the Pittsburgh Police Academy. Detective Behun has taught courses for the NTOA and for many state associations.
