Chris Cherry (Sr.) is a research scientist and founder of Cherry Engineering, INC. Previously, Chris served in the US Army Special Forces as a combat/demolitions engineer. He later served as a chemical engineer at the Naval EOD Technology Center in Indian Head, Maryland where he designed advanced shaped charges. Chris was recruited to Sandia National Laboratories as an explosive system design engineer and program manager where he designed and developed explosive tools and training curricula for IED defeat, military demolitions, and other specialized applications.

Christopher Cherry (Jr.) of Cherry Engineering serves as an IED defeat and explosive entry instructor for law enforcement and military special operations groups. He provides research and technical writing services for U.S. Department of Justice explosive research efforts and has authored multiple FBI Special Technicians Bulletins. Christopher has been involved in the research and development of various explosive technologies and applications, including IED disablement and explosive breaching, for over 25 years. His current efforts are focused on improving explosive system performance for military and law enforcement breaching, as well as special operations forces demolition applications.
