This incident took place in January 2005 in Brimfield, Ohio. It began as a domestic dispute involving suspect James Trimble. After leaving the residence, Trimble broke into a duplex and took a 22-year-old female hostage. The standoff unfolded over approximately 45 minutes via cell phone, as Metro SWAT negotiator Mike Korach worked to secure the hostage's release. During negotiations, the suspect agreed to allow a two-hour break before releasing the female. The entire incident was captured on audio recording by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
