Lorenzo "Enzo" Ortiz works for the Phoenix Police Department as a Crisis Interventions Detective and is one of the Team Leads for the Special Assignments Unit's Negotiation Team. Enzo has 19 years of law enforcement experience, a Bachelors' Degree in Psychology, a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and is working on a Master's in Clinical Mental Health. Enzo enjoys training officers within the Phoenix Police Department and other law enforcement and civilian agencies. He is passionate about empowering officers with effective communication tactics, working alongside great instructors from his department, and being a force multiplier for crisis intervention. Enzo recently authored a book titled, Bringing Hope: One officer's journey with empathy on the path to service and was also recently recognized as a 2024 inductee into the "Marquis Who's Who" which recognizes leaders and achievers in the inductee's respective fields.
