Incident Debrief: Latrobe, PA Barricaded Suspect Shoots SERT Member

In July 2013, SERT Officers attempted to arrest a robbery suspect in a residence. Upon entry, the suspect barricaded himself and fired rounds at team members, ultimately hitting one team member. In this dynamic debrief, you will hear from a team member who was present as he explains the success, challenges faced, and lessons learned during this incident. This is a powerful presentation in which the presenter explains the dynamics of the scene and the aftermath.

Brian King - Bio
Brian King has swerved with The Pennsylvania State Police from from1998-2023. He retired as a Corporal in July 2023. He was also a member of their tactical team since 2006. As a SERT (Special Emergency Response Team) member, he became a team leader in 2008, followed by an Assistant Coordinator in 2010. He was a Less Lethal Instructor, Chemical Agent Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Explosive Breacher while still committing to my T.L. and Assistant Coordinator duties. He received The Pennsylvania State Police Purple Heart Award in 2013. He also received the PATOA Operator of the Year award in 2015.
