The Public Order Grenadier Workshop is designed for law enforcement personnel responsible for the direct management, supervision, or instruction of Public Order personnel who are assigned to deploy less lethal impact munitions, chemical agents, and distraction devices in a protest environment. This workshop will expose law enforcement Public Order grenadier instructors and supervisors to contemporary public order use of force issues, tactics, and less lethal philosophy. Topics will include less lethal options, program development, weapon selection, de-escalation tactics, decision-making, policy, crowd management theories, documentation, legal issues, and operational considerations.
NOTE: Students will participate in group discussions. Students will need a computer or tablet with webcam and microphone capabilities in order to participate in this course.
